Privacy Policy

Mera is designed to keep personal app-usage and exercise information on the user's device.

Effective September 4, 2026

1. Scope and data controller

This Privacy Policy applies to the Mera Android application (com.vsbauer.mera), provided by Vlad Bauer, doing business as Mera, in Cyprus.

For questions about this policy, email vlad.bauer24@gmail.com.

2. Information processed by Mera

Mera processes the following information locally on the user's Android device:

Mera does not read Health Connect routes, location, heart rate, distance, calories, titles, notes, or other health metrics.

3. Why the information is used

Mera uses this information only to provide its requested screen-time balance features: Helpful app use and eligible completed exercise can add time to the local balance, while Distracting app use consumes it. The app also uses local state to show daily activity and apply the user's App Guard settings.

Where the GDPR applies, this processing is performed to provide functionality requested by the user. Optional Health Connect processing is based on the user's explicit permission, which may be withdrawn at any time in Android settings.

4. Android permissions and special access

The user can revoke any of these permissions in Android settings. Revoking a permission stops the related future processing and may disable the corresponding feature.

5. Storage, sharing, and security

Mera stores its application data only on the user's device. The app has no Internet permission and does not transmit this information to Vlad Bauer or to any server.

Data is kept in Mera's private application storage and is also protected by the security controls of the user's Android device. No storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so users should keep their device and Android security updates current.

6. Retention and deletion

7. User choices and privacy rights

Because Mera's application data stays on the user's device, Vlad Bauer cannot view, export, correct, or delete it remotely. Users can manage app choices inside Mera, revoke permissions through Android settings, disconnect Health Connect, or delete all Mera data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app.

Depending on applicable law, users may also have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing of their personal information, and to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority. Questions or requests can be sent to vlad.bauer24@gmail.com.

8. Children

Mera is not directed to children under 18. Mera does not knowingly collect children's personal information off the device. If you believe this policy raises a concern regarding a child, contact the email address above.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Mera's features or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when an update is published.
